St Leger at Doncaster - September
The St Leger was first run in 1776 and has a great history and tradition. The St Leger is the only classic run over a trip beyond one and a half miles. The extra two furlongs is for the out and out stayers and usually brings to the fore future Royal Ascot Gold Cup stars.
